On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, something truly special will take place at the ActionAid Hellas Youth Center: a dinner unlike any other — a Solidarity Dinner!
As part of HYPE, the new project of ActionAid Hellas, the evening will feature:
- An open discussion with the young people of the city about their role in shaping the Thessaloniki of tomorrow.
- A live concert by Amaradon Project, featuring Alexandra Chryssikopoulou (vocals), Vasilis Nenes (oud), Olga Alexiou (percussion) and Periklis Vrachnos (violin).
About Amaradon Project
Music blooms endlessly
Songs and melodies once sung in Egypt, Cappadocia, Constantinople, and across the wider regions of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans found their way into the Greek musical tradition. Some arrived through the natural interactions fostered by geographical proximity, while others were later absorbed through the popular music recordings of their time, adapting to new cultural contexts and needs.
Amaradon Project brings together and reinterprets such melodies—music that has travelled across borders and generations—highlighting the timeless flowering of musical traditions.
